What your Orlando business is worth to a real buyer
Most online business valuation calculators multiply your seller's discretionary earnings by an industry average. Real buyers don't. They subtract the cost of replacing you, adjust for how much the business depends on you, and check whether a lender will finance the price. I value Orlando and Florida businesses the way a buyer's lender will, so the number holds up when it matters.
How I value a business
- Recast earnings. Add back your salary, perks, one-time and personal costs, then subtract a market salary for whoever would run it after you.
- Test it against the bank. Under the SBA rules in effect since October 1, 2026, most buyers need 1.25x debt coverage on historical earnings. I show you the price at which that test passes.
- Price the risk. Owner dependence, recurring revenue, customer concentration, team depth and the quality of your books move the multiple more than your industry does.
- Show the gap. What a buyer would pay today, what it could be worth in 12 to 24 months, and the fixes that close the gap.
Valuation vs. appraisal
My valuation is an advisory opinion of value for planning and negotiating. It isn't a credentialed appraisal. If you need one for SBA financing, an estate, a divorce or a partner buyout, I'll coordinate a credentialed appraiser (ASA, CBA, ABV, CVA or BCA) and prepare you for it.
Who it's for
Orlando and Florida owners with $1M to $15M in revenue who are thinking about selling in the next few years, buying out a partner, or simply want to know their number. Trades, home and commercial services, construction, distribution and professional services are where my operating experience helps most.

The free business valuation calculator runs the same first step: recast earnings and subtract the manager. When you want a number you can negotiate with, the paid assessment goes further.

Common questions
How much does a business valuation cost in Orlando?
My Business Valuation Assessment starts at $4,000 for a fixed scope and a written memo. A credentialed appraisal from an ASA, CBA or CVA typically costs more and is required for SBA-financed sales; I can coordinate one when you need it.
What multiple will my business sell for?
It depends less on your industry than on owner dependence, recurring revenue, customer concentration, team depth, the quality of your books and your size. I'd rather show you which of those is holding your number down than quote an average.
Is SDE or EBITDA used to value my business?
Smaller owner-operated businesses are usually priced on SDE, larger ones on EBITDA. Either way, a buyer and their lender will subtract a market salary for whoever replaces you before they apply a multiple.
Do I need a valuation to sell my business?
Not to list it, but if your buyer uses an SBA loan, the lender will order an independent credentialed valuation, and total debt can't exceed it. Knowing your number first keeps you from pricing above what a lender will finance.
